On Saturday, May 10, 2025, starting at 6:00 PM, we will meet in Milan at Cascina Torchiera senz’acqua for a meeting-discussion on the water issue and ongoing struggles, starting from the book Water and Community by Colin Ward. We will talk about the water crisis of recent months in Basilicata, the issues related to water consumption for the 2026 Winter Olympics, and the role local communities play in managing a limited and vital resource.

Paolo Carsetti works in associations and has been active in social movements for twenty years. Graduated in Natural Sciences with a thesis in hydrogeology, he has studied the impact of human activities on delicate ecosystem balances and access to a vital resource for all living beings. He has particularly focused on sustainable water resource management methods aimed at conserving the resource for future generations. In 2006, he was among the promoters of the Italian Forum of Water Movements, a network of committees, associations, and social organizations.
Collettiva Mashare is a self-organized intergenerational transfeminist collective active in the city of Potenza.
Duccio Facchini is a journalist, writer, and editor of the monthly magazine Altreconomia. He is the author of numerous books, including Armi, un affare di Stato (Chiarelettere, 2012), Mi cercarono l’anima.
